Fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) (also Firdre-reinforced polymer) is a composite material made of aPolymer matrix reinforced with fibre. The Fibre is usually glass, carbon, aramid , or basalt. ThePolymer is usually an epoxy, vinylester or polyester thermosetting plastic, and phenolFormaldehyde resins are still in use.
FRP as a material is resistant to sunlight, water, chemical water and sewerage water.
FRP is high impact resistance as it is flexible and not brittle, hence in case of excess of load the FRPCovers do not disintegrate into pieces like cast iron or ductile lron.
FRP is a material which is not affected by extreme cold or hot temperature as it a thermoset Material (cannot be melted and non reversible)
UV stabilizer is added to the raw material to impart UV resistance.
